Batched Matcha Latte

Smooth and Luscious recipe for Batched Matcha latte

Just like everyone, I am currently obsessed with matcha, especially matcha latte. I’ve made cookies, waffles, drinks, anything that I can add matcha to, I’ve tried. To satisfy my cravings, I was looking into a quick and easy way to have matcha ready to go at all times, then batched matcha latte entered the villa.

when my obsession with matcha began

There are many times in my life where I was ahead of the curve. For matcha, I guess I was a late bloomer. It felt like everyone was SO obsessed with it. I thought it had to be performative and people couldn’t actually enjoy this green liquid (even though green is one of my fave colors and you would assume I would just like it).

I remember trying it before, but it wasn’t that great. Looking back at it now, it was probably not done properly and that’s why I didn’t like it. Back in December 2024, I had my best friend come to our place for Christmas. We went to this very cute doughnut shop in Horseshoe Bay, close to Vancouver. She ordered a matcha latte. As good best friends do, they steal a sip (or two). That single sip rocked my world.

Since then, I have been just as obsessed with matcha as the next person is. I got my partner on the matcha train and we’ve been going to any spot that we can find that has matcha (btw, there are a few good spots in Vancouver and Victoria for matcha!).

why you need to make this batched matcha latte recipe

I honestly understand that sometimes, you are a bit lazy and don’t feel like going the traditional way of making matcha. There are a few steps into making our beloved matcha and I respect them, but there are moments where you want to drink your matcha without doing all of the steps. You want one single step: pouring.

If you do like iced matcha latte, this recipe is for you. I take roughly 10 minutes on Sunday to make my batched matcha latte for the week and then enjoy it for the rest of the week. You only have to sift your matcha once, you make your matcha paste, throw it in a blender with oat milk, and it’s ready to go. It is so amazing when you are craving an iced matcha latte to open your fridge to a jug full of it waiting for you to enjoy. So now, go get your blender, your matcha, and oat milk (or milk of choice!), and make yourself batched matcha latte!
